Hobart's Cutest Cafes
Massive in reputation but often tiny in size, these cafes can take some commitment if you want to get a table. But it is worth battling the hissing locals (just kidding, they're lovely) to snag a seat for great food or a jump-starting coffee.

Chrome Coffee Lounge
Hobart
|
After a really hard day, when you're not sure whether to sigh or cry, there is very little that soothes like sitting in the pastel-green space of Chrome and sipping on an incredibly rich hot chocolate. There are healthier options, but whatever. It's worth the kilojoules.

The Lansdowne Cafe
Hobart
|
Another haven for organic food-fiends, this cafe serves loads of conscience-friendly food and apparently everything is made on-site from scratch. The brekkies are of particular note, going way beyond just muesli or eggs.

Machine Laundry Cafe
Hobart
|
No matter which way you look at, doing laundry sucks. The temptation to just buy more underpants and let the rest fester a bit longer is strong. But this cafe at least lets you relax, sip coffee and munch on some top-class nibbles while your clothes spin.

Jackman & McRoss Bakery
Battery Point
|
You can t blame Battery Pointers for being just a little smug over this local gem. Not only can they get their fill of breads and pastries here (organic of course, dahling), but there's also a range of gourmet quiches and tarts.
