Great value restaurants of Sydney
This is my list of some restaurants that provide excellent food, professional, friendly service, good value for money, and that cater for the ordinary people of Sydney, not foodies and trendies. All the restaurants on this list are at least BYO wine, but many are BYO completely, which is always a plus for diners like me who prefer to bring their own beverage of choice. You won't find any 'designer food' (ie. tiny portions on huge plates) at any of these restaurants.

One of the best restaurants in Baulkham Hills, without a doubt. Excellent pizzas, chicken and veal dishes, and desserts, await you here. Completely BYO, always a plus. Try the chocolate pizza for dessert, it's a specialty at Belmonte's.

Borrelli's
Concord West

A great Italian restaurant in Concord that's a complete contrast to all the trendy and overpriced places on nearby Majors Bay Road. Excellent seafood, veal and chicken dishes, and superb desserts. Very good ambience, it's nice and quiet inside, even though busy Concord Road is just outside the front door.

One of the best Lebanese restaurants in Sydney, and just across the road from the excellent Greek restaurant, Kafenes. Gary and his staff provide friendly and welcoming service, and the food is superb. BYO wine as well. Lebanese cuisine at its best.

Kafenes is one of the best Greek restaurants in Sydney, without a doubt. Completely BYO, excellent food, and friendly, professional service. My friends and I keep coming back to this excellent family-run restaurant.

Little Portugal

One of the best Portuguese restaurants in Sydney. A pleasant change to many of the Portuguese restaurtants in nearby Petersham, Little Portugal offers excellent portuguese food and friendly service. BYO wine, but there is also a good range of local and imported beers and wines available. I always have one of the excellent Super Bock beers from Portugal, whenever I dine here.

Morris' Egyptian Restaurant

Morris' is a Dulwich Hill institution, and a great place to dine with small to medium groups of friends. You can get a banquet menu here for dining groups, which is great value for money. Completely BYO, and there is a belly dancer on Friday and Saturday evenings to entertain diners. There is an excellent range of meat and vegetable dishes on offer as well. Morris treats regular customers like old friends.
