Homewares bon vivant Pip Robb has upped stumps and headed for the coast. A month after retiring, the Crows Nest store the Armchair Collective is back, this time with more space, more designer armchairs to drool over and a new addition of a stellar little cafe.
The concept of a cafe attached to a retail outlet is nothing new, but what's so great about the Armchair Collective's approach is that you aren't tucked away in a corner like an embarrassing secret. Dining areas are spread across the store, allowing customers to add any number of items to the household wish list without feeling like the grubby child told to sit in the corner.
On the menu you'll find most cafe classics you could ask for, all with their own modern twist. Bacon and egg rolls with rocket and homemade aioli are fast gathering a loyal following, while chargrilled beef burgers with homemade pickles and a side of hand-cut chips with harrisa-spiked mayo are hard to top come lunchtime.

Lunch at The Armchair Collective
Had a very pleasant lunch today with a friend at The Armchair Collective. It has only been open just over a month and the place was popping! The cafe has a very great feel it doubles as a home ware/furniture shop. I had a great beef burger with pickles, cheese and fries and my friend went vego with a beetroot salad with figs and cheese. Followed by coffee with organic passionfruit tarts. Fantastic with very friendly attentive service well worth a visit!
