At the 'Paris end' of the CBD, Sally's Kitchen presents a bright and friendly nook for city dwellers to escape the daily grind with, well wouldn't you know it, a good daily grind. While the organic Fair Trade Supreme Coffee is indeed a drawcard, the kitchen (as the name suggests) is equally, if not more important, here.
The blackboard menus are liable to change, but you may come across brekkies like bacon and egg pie; rhubarb and raspberry compote with Greek yoghurt and toasted almonds; and prosciutto and cherry tomatoes on toast. For lunch, you may find a Moroccan chicken salad, aged sirloin steak sandwich, and to follow it up, the house-made French vanilla ice cream. Come Thursday and Friday nights, Sally's Kitchen becomes more of a cocktail and wine bar for well-deserved after-work drops and nibbles.
