Renowned for its patronage of the Victorian arts scene, the works of art at Pop Restaurant - down a typical Melbourne laneway - are squarely on diners' plates. Offering a mod-'60s vibe with plenty of curves and colour, this restaurant's decor is in perfect harmony with a menu that proffers a selection of mod-Oz delights. These treats range from entrees such as the plump scallops encased in crisp pancetta, accompanied by a cauliflower puree and sauce gribiche; to mains like a lamb rump, roasted with black cabbage, potato fondant and lamb jus.

POP
Enjoyed a fantastic dining experience at pop. We chose to have a few tapas plates to start with and they were gorgeous. Scallops cooked perfectly and the sauce the garlic prawns came in was amazing. The zucchini fritters were really yummy too. For main I chose the porterhouse which was cooked to perfection and so so tender! None of us had any room for dessert... but i had my eye on the brownie, it looked amazing! The wonderful food teamed with friendly service and the atmosphere of hardware lane means Ill definatly be going back for more!

Everyone should be going here!
The food was out of this world, by far the best meal I have had in Australia. Possibly ever! Service was impeccable, our waiter knew each dish, every drink was recommended to our specific tastes (we didn't look at the drinks list once!) and the wines sampled were all complimentary to the fantastic food. Every dish we had was absolute bliss... the modern edge to the flavours and beautiful presentation were a joy to behold and then to devour! All this mixed with the great vibrancy of Hardware Lane makes this to be a perfect night out. We. Will. Be. Back!
