The most recent venture from George Calombaris's Press Club Group, PM24 offers a casual, contemporary take on French cuisine. At the helm is much-loved adopted Melbournite and veteran of the city's restaurant scene Philippe Mouchel, who channels his French roots to produce an unpretentious menu based largely around the bespoke, red rotisserie that dominates the kitchen. From it you can expect dishes like organic roast chicken with vegetables - perfectly executed, accessible and non-fussy French food.
The restaurant itself is simply decked out in classic French bistro style with Bentwood chairs and leather banquettes, but the open kitchen provides much of the entertainment anyway, and the atmosphere is lively and buzzing.
