Fantastic restaurant, but...
Must say enjoyed 99% of our experience at the restaurant, but I think customers need to know the following. My partner is in a wheelchair and found on this site that it was wheelchair accessible. When I booked our table I specifically asked if there were any steps and was told no. I would like to point out to anyone in a wheelchair that there is one small step about 10cm high going into the restaurant and due to the fact that it is an electric wheelchair weighing 100kg we could not get into the front door, therefore the restuarant is not 100% wheelchair accessible. I needed to run back to our car and get our ramp in order to safely get into the restaurant. Haing said that, food was great and the service was fantastic. This is not a complaint, but merely information so people do not hae the same unexpected problem in the future.

Impromptu dinner
My parents arrived from the country and were staying in the city. My husband and I went for a walk to see which restaurant would suit them best. We came upon Lucattini's and as we were looking at the menu outside a gentleman opened the door and asked if he could help us. I asked him if he had a table for 4 available, being Thursday night I thought that every restaurant would have been booked out, he said there would be a table for us. We went to get my parents. From the first moment we entered the restaurant we were treated like royalty, the service was fantastic, the waiters were very attentive and polite, nothing was too much trouble for them. Although a little bit pricey I thought that it was still worth it and I certainly would recommend it to anyone and will return again.

Great food, but.....
Just before Christmas, 2007, my partner and I entered Lucattini's Restaurant for a pre-theatre dinner, as advertised on a placard near the restaurant. Reasonably priced about about $16.50 per person plus a glass or either red or white wine. When we asked for the pre-theatre menu, we were given a menu in Italian only. We were asked if we would like some mineral water, some antipasto and some garlic bread. We assumed that they were part of the theatre package and accepted the offer. After reviewing the restaurant's main menu, we decided to order similarly priced items, written in English, for our mains. At the end of the meal, after doing what we thought was within the pre-theatre package limits, including a glass of wine with dinner as advertised, we were handed a bill for just under $100! The items offered were not part of the pre-theatre package and were charged a la carte. Charming place, great atmosphere, great food... but less-than-candid prices. And my partner and I have had pre-theatre dinner specials in Melbourne, Sydney, New York, London.

Business Lunch - 8people
Great old-school Italian atmosphere. Very attentive wait-staff, willing to adapt dishes to personnel needs and requests. Great value - marinara dishes were hearty and definitely not short of seafood (freshness superb). Many daily specials (entrees & mains) provide a variety that make a repeat visit appealing.
