Little Beijing House

This restaurant is tailor-made for fun communal dining with friends. Peking duck is the house special and once you've been you'll know why. To be safe, call ahead and let them know how many ducks you want to order.

Once you arrive, the Peking duck is served as your entree in the form of savoury pancakes wrapped around crispy-skin duck with plum sauce. Then the remaining meat is removed from the bones and stir-fried as your main course. If only they could figure out a way to make some sort of Peking-duck-bones dessert ...

Duck lovers unite
Our party of 5 came here for dinner on a weeknight. When we initially walked in, there were quite a few tables empty, but within 20 minutes the entire room was full with every single table filled!

The decor of the restaurants leaves much to be desired, with gross lime green walls and typical tables with white table cloths. However, the staff were lovely, very quick and professional. The first course is duck broth, but I'm not a huge broth fan but everyone else finished their bowls very quickly. Then the duck came out (we got two!), all cut up already with plenty of pancakes, shallots, cucumber and sauce to DIY your little peking duck parcels. So tasty!!! The skin was nice and crispy, and the duck meat was just right! Not dry, and not too overly oily. Third course was the duck stir fry in egg noodles, and we had ordered a serve of chinese broccoli with garlic sauce. The noodles were great with a generous amount of duck in them. The vegies were very welcomed to break up the taste of duck meat.

We left absolutely full, especially after squeezing in our BYO'd beers. And it would've only cost us $25 each, but my very generous friend picked up our bill! Definitely a great place to catch up with friends over delish and good value food, although it does get pretty noisy when the restaurant is full of happy eaters!
