Down a typical tiny Melbourne laneway, Kura Saki Bar offers diners a delicious selection of sushi and sashimi tasting plates all tailored to go with sake, beer and wine. There's also the option of partaking in the popular Japanese gastronomic ritual of shabu shabu, a cooking method which uses a large vat of boiling water or Japanese stock (known as dashi), where meats and vegetables are cooked at the table by diners.
Naturally, there's a tempting, and extensive, selection of sake, shochu and Japanese beers. Those who would prefer a glass of wine will find the wine list of predominately regional Australian drops more than up to the task.
