Jack's Satay Bar


For 17 years Jack's Satay Bar has sizzled, wokked and tossed and assortment of appetising Malaysian ingredients for salivating diners on a leafy corner of Moonee Ponds' Mount Alexander Road. According to owner John Ho, who is also behind neighbouring teppanyaki spot, KOO, the years have paid off with an expansive and faithful customer base who return regularly to enjoy Jeffrey Ng's audibly sizzling lobster served on a hot-plate and wok tossed with the chef's special sauce. Hot prawn rolls and the chef's seafood combinations with noodles, vegetables and curry are also popular choices for filling up with fine Malaysian cuisine in this large open plan restaurant space painted in calming purples and watched over peacefully by a large stone-cut Buddha face. Banquet settings are available for large groups making it a top spot for hungry punters during Melbourne's Spring Racing Carnival at the nearby Flemington track and the adjoining full bar is perfect for warming up before a night out at local bars and clubs.

Roti roll fan
Service is excellent considering that they can get quite busy, the staff are friendly and its evident that management is first class. The roti rolls are a favorite and a must is the pikes riesling, to top of a sensational meal.
