Common sandwiches? Forget about it. This super trouper of a gourmet sandwich bar is on a mission to deliver what they call "restaurant quality" sandwiches to the busy masses of the Melbourne CBD. The owners, Simon O'Regan and Jackie Middleton, come from high-end restaurant backgrounds, informing their decision to make fine sandwiches using fresh seasonal produce that's also sustainable. How's about a duck confit, wagyu meatball or pork belly sanga?
The boutique lunch choices are joined by salads, sweets (macarons included), and various gourmet brekkie options too, like the gluten-free mushroom wrap and the crumpets with ciabatta and lemon curd or jam. That's reason enough to get up early to get to Earl.
