After reading these reviews, we had low expectations of our Canary Club experience, but we were pleasantly surprised - and I feel compelled to counter those reviews below! We booked for 7pm when it was half full and were led upstairs to a tiny candlelit table. The decor was very trendy, architectural and stylish. Our waitress was friendly, attentive and knew the menu and Spanish pronounciations fine. She stopped us after ordering five tapas saying 'start with those first?' which was good cos it was just enough. The quail was delectable, the baby calamari beautifully soft, potatoes crispy and well cooked, and the mussels large and fresh. The mushrooms, they were ok. The sangria was strong tasting and we got a complimentary glass of champagne, perhaps for Valentines Day. Yes, it is somewhat pricey but I wouldn't complain or demand my money back. Either there was a change in management, or people have high expectations because I thought this place was quite lovely.

Disappointing
I have to agree with the other reviewers - we thought the food was average and the service dreadful. When we finally managed to attract the attention of the waiting staff it was almost impossible to hear them over the music. For the price I would expect something much, much better.

What a disappointment
We were there last night with a group of friends. The quality of the food was below average, no better than food-court quality. The service was very lacking. Waitresses were slack, had no knowledge of the menu and were hardly in sight. The music was awful too, either no music or too loud. We spent a lot of money and got very little in return.Owner must be very well conected to PRs to receive such great coverage for this below-average place. A lot of hype but not much substance.

authentic??
I was very disappointed with this restaurant. It claimed to be authentic but I found none of that at all! I would not recommend this place. The flamenco show was no better either.
