It's hard to pin down the food served here. Some menu items can seem like straight-down-the-line Asian cuisine, while others tip their culinary hat in the direction of contemporary American fare.
Whatever the food, Cafe de Kikaku is a welcome addition to the Docklands area. Its laidback vibe, welcoming atmosphere (for diners and those after a tipple) means it's accessible to a wide cross-section of the community. You can just as easily step in for a nightcap as you can for a Korean interpretation of the Japanese classic chicken karaage.
