Good food but disappointing service
It's such a highly rated restaurant and we went with lots of expectations but the service wasn't great. Melbourne has so many outstanding restaurants to choose from and I don't think I'll visit Becco again though the food is good.

Loved it
Great informal atmosphere, friendly, attentive and helpful staff, a vast wine list and, most importantly, fabulous food. It was the first visit for all five of us for dinner and we have all vowed to return... We greatly enjoyed our evening.

Keep getting better
Have been several times (always at lunch), and they keep getting better. Staff very attentive, even though a full dining room, and a few weeks before Xmas! Specials explained well, food was fresh and delicious, and spacing of tables was pretty good (ie not bumping elbows with your neighbour!)

Loved it!!!
I visited Becco for the first time (with my husband, a regular visitor). I thoroughly enjoyed the entire experience. The location and ambience made for a perfect evening. I had heard so much about the iconic restaurant, so thought I may have got my hopes up. I was not disappointed.
The service was exceptional as was the timing between meals. Our waitress was knowledgeable on the menu and didn't miss a beat.
We had a wonderful 3 course meal and I thought my husband had died and gone to heaven as he consumed the roast duck. I ordered tagliatelle with crab, chilli and garlic. It was very tasty, however slightly oily but that certainly didn't stop me from polishing off every mouthful. I passed on my feedback to the waitress, so she could let the chef know. As we were about to have our departure latte, she arrived with a sweet treat to make up for my slightly oily pasta. Completely unexpected just added to the great service and evening.

Spot on in every way!
What a fabulous place this is! This was my second visit. We were greeted in a warm manner and were seated promptly on a lovely candlelit table. The atmosphere here is superb. The staff were friendly yet professional. Service was great. And the food and wine was spot on in every way possible! Every penny was well spent. If you want to impress someone, bring them to Becco. I suggest if you have yet to dine at Becco, you must get yourself down there fast and experience the quality and the ambience of this establishment.

Magnificent dinner
Faultless dinner at Becco. All the food that we ordered was absolutely fantastic with generous servings. I must mention the oysters because they were exceptional, fresh and tasty. We will be back to try other meals on the menu, highly recommended.

The Buzz
From the moment we walked in the energy level engulfed us. We had a Campari at the bar, not one of those weak ones but a truly great Campari that is for some reason very hard to find in most places. That set the tone for a great night of food, service and atmosphere. The wine list was amazing probably about 350 wines to choose from and some 30 by the glass. We had St Helen oysters, tuna carpaccio, lamb shanks and wild barramundi - all faultless. Will return very soon.

Hard to chew.
Warm and intimate atmosphere. Professional yet indifferent staff. Wonderful modern classic dishes but they were a tad bit small. Be sure to order a side dish to accompany the poor-quality, unreasonably highly priced steak ($37), because thats all you get, steak on a big white plate with a teaspoon of your choice of mustard.
