Winning combo
The view looking out over the State Library is fabulous. It s very spacious and welcoming and there was a lovely ambience. There s a large, lovely bar in the centre of the room where I d imagine it would be nice to just come in for a drink. The staff were excellent very knowledgeable, friendly and welcoming. They were very helpful with suggestions for a one of us who had a couple of food allergies. Considering the restaurant s concept, I was a bit disappointed to see the imported Italian sparkling water. Surely we have good sparkling water that doesn t come from as far as that. The complimentary bread with sea salt was lovely. Entrees all around were tasty. I was not as impressed with my fish main as I'd expected. The overall dining experience was very enjoyable though. It was a great combo of service, food and ambience and I would definitely come back.

Great concept, fantastic food
While the shopping centre location is less than glamourous, once inside 100 Mile Cafe it's a different story with great views out onto the State Library. Food is exceptional - fresh, seasonal, and superb choice. Much of what we ate here I would be perfectly happy to receive in a fine dining establishment at much higher prices. However, the relatively casual atmosphere means that higher prices would be hard to justify. Having said that, service is exemplary and staff are very well informed. Vegetarians are well catered for.
